We’ve recently enhanced your OpenSilver experience by releasing a new Visual Studio extension named “OpenSilver SDK” in the marketplace. As a result, you might currently have two similar extensions installed. To keep your Visual Studio environment clean and optimized, we recommend uninstalling the older “OpenSilver” extension.

Follow these simple steps to uninstall the outdated extension:

Step 1: Open Visual Studio

Step 2: Navigate to the Extensions Manager:
In the top menu, select Extensions → Manage Extensions.

Step 3: Locate the old OpenSilver extension:
Under the Installed section, you’ll find both extensions:

  • OpenSilver (the old extension to remove)
  • OpenSilver SDK (the new extension to keep)

Step 4: Uninstall the old extension:
Click on the three dots next to the old “OpenSilver” extension and select Uninstall from the context menu.

Step 5: Complete the uninstallation:
Close Visual Studio. A confirmation prompt will appear, asking you to confirm the uninstallation. Click Modify and wait until the extension is fully removed.

That’s it! You now have only the updated “OpenSilver SDK” extension installed, ensuring you benefit from the latest features and improvements.
